My sister's car got broken into while they were at church on Sunday. They used a screwdriver and got away with the stereo, the DVD player, and the front speakers. My little niece Heidi prayed that the "fief" would get caught so they could have their radio back. Oddly enough, my other niece, Emily, had just been to EFY and the CD was in the stereo. Maybe the criminals will listen to it and be converted.
I mention this because it reminded of when my car got broken into in high school - they also used a screwdriver and ended up busting open the dash to get at my CD player. It was part of a (non-existent) crime wave that was sweeping our idyllic little Valley neighborhood. How many times did your car get broken into, Bridge? They must have liked to target those old Ford Tauruses.
It was the summer between junior and senior year. I remember going out to my sweet 1988 Ford Taurus, maroon, Target hubcaps, the back window and then some surrounded by stickers, my equally sweet aviators hanging from the necklace on the rear view mirror, only to find the door still open, my CD player and all my CDs gone, and half of the dashboard hanging loose. That summer sucked - I had just broken up with my boyfriend, I had no job because J had just fired me for the 1st time (yes, it happened a 2nd time, but that's for a different post), and now my beloved punk rock CDs were missing. But the thing that made me the most mad (and then made me laugh so hard) was that the "feifs" had eaten the rest of my box of Triscuit crackers that were on the front seat. They left the (actually quite sizable amount of) change in the ash tray, but they ate my crackers. Must have been stoners.

Oh lets see... 2 times at my parents house, 1 time at our apartment, 0 times in Hillyard (which I would expect it to get broken into), and 1 more time at my parents house.
