We have the funniest cats. This is Frankie:
He would like his dinner, please.
This is Fiona:
She is trying out for America's Next Top Model.
Frankie is fat (he weighs 17 lbs.). He loves to carbo-load. Among his favorites (besides whatever Fiona hasn't finished) are flour, oatmeal, macaroni, powdered milk (these all came from the food storage - he has chewed through the foil bags), bread in all its variations, many cheeses, corn on the cob, lunch meat (he will eat through a plastic sandwich bag to get to it), yogurt, cereal and milk left in the bowl, anything left on the counter or on a low shelf in a cupboard, anything that smells good to him in the garbage...we can't stop him. This may be because he was a dumpster kittie. When J worked up in Marysville, some kid came into his store with a tiny kitten in his backpack. J was worried that the kitten wasn't being taken of, so he offered to take it. He brought little Frankie home and he was only the size of a pop can. He was way too young to have been separated from his mother. He still loves to be held up over your shoulder, like a baby. He also head butts to get kisses and shows off his fangs when he smells something he doesn't like. He loves to hide under things, like inside of our box spring and now inside the laundry closet. He is very easy going.

Fiona, on the other hand, is a princess. We got her in Missoula a month after we got married, so when Frankie came along the next summer, she was a little punk (but they're cool with each other now). She is very vocal (sometimes yelling), and she licks your hand like a dog does. That's how we picked her at the shelter - she gave us kisses through the cage. She gets in these crazy moods where she'll jump in the chair in the living room and dig and dig and jump onto her back and roll around and then dig and dig and then she curls up and goes to sleep - it's weird. If we let them outside, she will roll around in the dirt and stalk bugs. We don't let them outside very often because Frankie bullies the neighborhood cats and Fiona eats so much grass that she throws up on the carpet.
